⚡Nòt Film Fest's Logbook-Day 4⚡

Updated: Aug 31, 2021

✨Hi Nòt enthusiasts!

We're halfway through the festival and the event keeps going on with lots of stimulating experiences, meetings and films of all kinds. Everybody has found out something that intrigues them and they are living 6 days full of relax, joy and cinema at 360°.

We're very delighted to see all of you creating lots of connections and, maybe, friendships ✨

✨Yesterday our day started as ever at Nòt Lounge with an amazing interview with Lorn Macdonald, the lead actor of Beats by Brian Welsh, that had opened the third edition of Nòt Film Fest last year. Lorn had a very fulfilling year with his work after winning a Bafta in Scotland for his role as Spanner in Beats. ✨

✨Later, the interviews went ahead with Marta Gastini and Ben Epstein. Marta talked about her work as an actress and her experiences in the Hollywood cinema industry where she worked with actors of the caliber of Anthony Hopkins.

Ben spoke about his feature film, Buck Alamo, a modern western story that has been screened yesterday night at 9.00 PM at Sferisterio✨

✨The day passed and at 6.00 PM the Sferisterio welcomed lots of people and it came to life thanks to a lot of exciting activities by the cry of: let's connect with each other and stay together while enjoying the atmosphere!✨

✨The night went by in the best possible way. The lights came up and the doors of the lounge opened to welcome filmmakers, actors and guests from all over the world. It was created a very stimulating environment of exchange between artists of all kinds.

Among the evening's guests who walked the Red Carpet there were Francesca Cavallo, author of the book Good night stories for rebel girls who will talk about inclusivity at the Panel at 6.00 PM today and Fred Reau, director of French Kiss goes to Oulu that premiered yesterday afternoon.✨

✨Today it's another day full of films, workshops and joy!

Your loyal blog author will suggest you which events you don't have to miss out!✨

✨At 10.00 AM, in the "Docs for Breakfast" selection, I would like to point out Hunger Ward by Skye Fitzgerald, an Oscar Nominee documentary about refugees and war in Yemen. ✨

✨Afterwards, don't miss out the workshop "From script to screen" by Peter Baxter at 11.00 AM! If you are an aspiring screenwriter, here you could get all the tips to know how to write a worth producing screenplay!✨

✨Then, pick up your things and get ready for the afternoon!✨

✨You don't have to miss out the screenings at 4.00 PM, the "UNSTOPPABLE" selection, a collection of short films made by filmmakers with disabilities and acted by actors and actresses with disabilities. This selection was part of Slamdance 2020 line-up and it will premiere in Italy. ✨

✨We've talked in depth about Slamdance-Unstoppable and Inclusivity in Fims here⬇️✨

Every year Nòt wants to give voice to Italian authors premiering some short films in the "New Italian Auteurs" selection. At 6.00 PM you could watch many short films made up by Italian filmmakers. Leopoldo Medugno director of Buongiornissimo1! and Alessia Buiatti director of Il tempo e i giorni will be present at the screenings.

✨After watching a selection of very good movies, change location and get relaxed while drinking something! ✨

✨So, go to Castle Bar at Sferisterio, look at the marvellous sunset view and listen to Francesca Cavallo, Marina Cuollo and Peter Baxter! They will talk about inclusivity in films, a remarkable challenge for the cinema of the future✨

✨It's essential to know how to promote inclusivity and how to include people of all sexual orientations, races, gender identities and so on who have to be represented on the screen and who has been ignored for years by cinema industry ✨

✨At 6.00 PM you can attend the Opening at Castle Bar in the magical setting of Sferisterio! You can taste a lot of delicious food and enjoy lots of drinks by Il Cucinino (restaurant and cafè directly from Santarcangelo di Romagna) & Green Pepper with the DJ set staged by G & Kadesh

✨However, don’t lose precious time by only eating and drinking!

At 8.00 PM the Red Carpet Gala opens up!

The doors of our outdoor cinema will bring in spectators, volunteers and guests of Nòt 2021 who will be able to enjoy the film previews from all over the world!

So, whoever you are, choose your best dress and put it on to shine like a real super star!✨

✨I’ll refresh your memory on what you’ll see at night✨:

🌷LITTLE BIG-UNO by Alina Pasok, Ilya Prusikin

🍀DAVID by Zachary Woods
